Philosophy
At Nutritional Glo, we understand that nutrition is deeply personal, not one-size-fits-all. Each person’s connection to food is shaped by their life experiences, traditions, and values. We take time to listen to every client’s story, honor their cultural background, and combine practical, evidence-based nutrition with genuine compassion. Our goal is to create a welcoming space where clients feel understood and supported, empowering them to make lasting, meaningful changes for lifelong health.
Gloria’s Story: A Journey Rooted in Family and Community
Gloria’s journey into nutrition began as she searched for solutions to her family’s ongoing health challenges; challenges that lingered despite conventional medical care. As a caregiver, she witnessed the daily struggles her children and mother faced managing asthma, food allergies, and diabetes. She watched her mother struggle to manage diabetes because the nutrition advice lacked the traditional foods she loved.
These experiences revealed to Gloria how essential nutrition is to overall well-being and inspired her to become a dietitian, determined to provide the kind of support and guidance her family once needed. She returned to school, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, and broadened her expertise by completing a dietetic internship at Arizona State University.
“Seeing the challenges my mother faced when nutrition advice didn’t align with her traditions highlighted the importance of incorporating cultural food into nutrition care.” — Gloria Gonzalez, RDN
Serving Communities Through Compassionate Care
Gloria’s first professional role was with the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, where she provided nutrition education and support to underserved women and children. This work gave her valuable insight into the challenges that diverse communities face and reinforced her dedication to culturally sensitive care.
Founding Nutritional Glo: Personalized Nutrition with Heart
As her experience grew, Gloria started Nutritional Glo, a private practice based on the understanding that everyone’s relationship with food is unique and influenced by their experiences and cultural background. She takes time to listen to each client’s story and provides a supportive, respectful environment.
Blending scientific knowledge with compassion, Gloria empowers clients to build sustainable, positive relationships with food that honor their cultural roots and lived experiences. Her mission is to enhance well-being, reduce food-related chronic illness, and equip clients with knowledge and wellness skills that support lasting health
A Personal Calling
For Gloria, nutrition is more than her profession. It’s a calling born from her family’s struggles and fueled by a deep belief in the healing power of food when paired with understanding and empathy.
